In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 was released by Nike. At the time, this was the first Nike running shoe to feature a visible Air bubble. This revolutionary technology has since been translated into many other Nike running shoe models. But did you know that the Nike Air Max 1 from 1987 as we know it today was not actually the very first version? In 1986, Nike released the Nike Air Max 1 Big Bubble, a shoe that was taken out of production because the Air Bubble burst in cold weather.
